KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University football is looking to move to 3-0 on the road Saturday against Illinois.
Head Coach P.J. Fleck says games against major conference schools provide a needed measuring stick for his program. He also says his program is past the point of fearing its non-conference schedule.
“It’s going to become something that we always do and are expected to do — like Boise State is expected to beat power five schools, like Houston is now expected to beat top-10 teams,” Fleck said.
The Broncos upset Northwestern during the opening weekend thrashed North Carolina Central 70-21 last week.
Kickoff is at 4 p.m. on Z-96.5.
