KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — 15 years after the 9-11 attacks, crowds keep coming to memorial services in Kalamazoo to mark the solemn occasion.
There were several events in Kalamazoo on Sunday to mark the 15th anniversary of the attacks.
The catholic church held a “blue mass” for police officers at St. Catherine of Siena in Portage.
At Wings Event Center, hundreds of local firefighters and citizens recreated the march up and down the 110-stories of the World Trade Center using the stadium seating. Some did it wearing full gear. They raised $17,000 for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
Hundreds more turned out for the memorial service held in Bronson Park on Sunday evening. Some wept as the fire bell was rung for the fallen firefighters and police who died in New York.
