COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A 6-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries when the child was struck by a car driven by a teenager in Comstock Township on Saturday night.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 6500 block of East JK Avenue just after 7:00 p.m.
They say the child was riding a motorized bike at Orchard Place Apartments when the it strayed out onto the roadway and was struck.
The driver of the car was a 16-year-old from Kalamazoo.
No names have been released.
The child was admitted to Bronson Methodist and was last reported in critical condition at the Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
It remains under investigation, but sheriff’s deputies say alcohol was not a factor.
