KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Schools have dispatched grief counselors to Loy Norrix High and Phoenix High School after receiving word of the identities of the victims in Monday evening’s double murder in the Edison Neighborhood.
17-year-old Daquarion Hunter graduated from Loy Norrix High this past June. 17-year-old Marsavious Frazier was a student at Phoenix High School.
Superintendent Michael Rice says “It is a tragedy any time young people lose their lives”.
He says the counselors will be available through the week as needed.
Hunter and Frazier are the 3rd and 4th Kalamazoo School Students to be die violently this year.
