STURGEON BAY, WISC. (WKZO-AM) — Police in the Wisconsin town of Sturgeon Bay say a 65-year-old man from Kalamazoo was killed when his car went into the water between a couple of bridges near a marina Thursday afternoon.
They say his Oldsmobile Lucerne rolled off a dock near Centerpointe Marina. A 55-year-old woman, also from Kalamazoo, managed to escape with a dog before the car sank.
The woman was treated and released. She told police the driver was slumped over the wheel and may have suffered a medical problem, causing them to roll into the water. It took about an hour to lift the car out of the water, the victim still inside.
He reportedly had a boat docked nearby. The man and women were reportedly friends but not a couple. Their names have not been released.
More information is expected to be released by police on Friday.
