DEARBORN (WKZO-AM) — AAA Michigan says gas prices are up 7 cents from last week on average in Michigan.
The current statewide average is about $2.32 per gallon. That’s still about 59 cents less than this same time last year but nearly 15-cents higher than the national average.
Trilby Lundberg reports that gas prices are also up nationally and she blames higher crude oil prices for the incease to $2.17 national average.
Susan Hiltz with AAA says issues at BP’s Whiting, Indiana refinery may also be contributing to higher prices in the Great Lakes region.
She says Michigan continues to have the most volatile pricing in the country, and right now we are ranked ninth for average price.
