ORION TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) –Another successful if unhappy conclusion to an Amber Alert requested by Port Huron Police after they claimed that Douglas Ball Sr. had abducted his namesake, 5-year-old Douglas Ball Jr. on Saturday.
They were reportedly found in the mobile home of Ball’s estranged mother in Orion Township in Oakland County.
The Detroit News reports that a tactical team had entered the home and rescued the boy before Ball knew what was happening.
He was taken into custody without incident.
They had already found the boy’s mother, 30-year-old Lydia Ball, dead in the basement of their home in Port Huron and named Ball as a person of interest in her homicide.
He has been turned over to Port Huron Police for arraignment sometime this week.
Custody of the boy is expected to go to his maternal grandparents.
