PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — A 21-year-old Portage man has been killed in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in front of the Meijer on South Westnedge Avenue
Portage Public Safety said the victim was northbound on his brand new Yamaha when a 50-year-old female from Mattawan pulled out of the store parking lot right into the path of the motorcycle. The two collided at about 7:40 p.m.
The Portage man suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Mazda and a 17-year-old passenger were not injured.
The cleanup and investigation shut down the busy roadway for two hours.
No names were released.
The investigation continues and charges may be filed or citations issued.
