KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Accused mass murderer Jason Dalton was scheduled to be in court on Monday for a status hearing but Prosecutor Jeff Getting says it’s been delayed until September 30th.
Dalton has already been found competent to stand trial, but exhibited some bizarre behavior during his preliminary hearing.
His attorney has asked that he undergo additional examination to determine if he may have been mentally ill at the time of the crime. They plan an insanity defense if that’s what the tests determine.
But that examination has not taken place, forcing the court to push back the status hearing.
Dalton reportedly told detectives that a demon inside his Uber app, the system that directs Uber drivers to their next customer, had taken over his mind and controlling his body and was making him shoot people.
