KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation says repair work will force single-lane closures on eastbound Interstate 94 next week.
The freeway suffered weather-related damage near Wings Event Center.
Spokesperson Nick Schirripa said repairs in the right lane will be made overnight.
“8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday,” Schirripa said. “We want to minimize disruptions.”
He also says, despite the problem, the road remains safe.
“If there was a safety concern there, we would have closed that lane until it was fixed,” Schirripa said. “We just need to close that lane until we get to where we need to be.”
The work should be done by the week after.
