KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Businesses in Kalamazoo County have taken in over 2,000 stuffed animals so far during the 2016 “Teddy Bear Posse” campaign.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller said he’s been amazed by the support.
“The love and caring has just been a huge outpouring,” Fuller said. “We have boxes of teddy bears — so many, that we’re going to be shrink-wrapping the ones we’re putting into police cars.”
First responders will give the critters to children after traumatic events. Over 50 local businesses will accept the animals through Sept. 15.
DROP-OFF LOCATIONS: Applebees, Little Caesar’s, Look Insurance, Southern Michigan Bank and Trust, Sweetwater’s Donut Mill, Goodrich Quality Theatres, Metro PCS, Plato’s Closet, Midwest Communications, Mulder Moving and Storage and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
