KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man with a long criminal history is being held without bond for the alleged kidnap and rape of a 30-year-old woman who thought she was just catching a ride from a man she knew.
Tory Casey, 29, could get life in prison if he is convicted of the most-serious charges: Two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.
Casey also faces kidnapping, two felony gun counts and two counts of resisting and obstructing officers for his alleged actions on Friday when he was first spotted and ultimately confronted and arrested.
The victim told police that Casey forced her at gunpoint to a remote spot in Richland Township, where she was struck in the head, sexually assaulted then abandoned.
A couple making deliveries in the area took her to the hospital after finding her crying and bloodied.
Casey has a criminal history that includes assault, home invasion and armed robbery. He was just released from prison in March.
