KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo mass-shooting survivor Tiana Carruthers says she may make it look easy, but recovering from multiple gunshot wounds has not been easy and now she faces two more surgeries.
The young mother was credited with shielding children from the gun fire she claimed in court came from Jason Dalton, 45, last February.
It was that testimony that prompted Dalton to lunge at her during his preliminary hearing. He was dragged out of the room by sheriff’s deputies.
In a Facebook video, she thanked the community for their support, but also says life can be frustrating because she can’t do a lot of things with her children or take care of daily tasks because she has limited mobility.
