KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo woman is in the hospital and another woman will spend the weekend in the County Jail after a stabbing in the 300 block of Wall St. in Kalamazoo.
A Public Safety Officer happened to be at the Emergency Room at Bronson Hospital when a woman appeared with a stab wound to the chest during the noon hour on Saturday.
The officer conducted interviews with the victim and several witnesses who arrived with her.
Apparently an argument erupted in the home, and a 24-year-old woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the 23-year-old victim.
Public Safety Officers then proceeded to the address on Wall Street, where they found the suspect in the front yard.
An arrest was made and a subsequent search of the young woman turned up marijuana.
The victim is in stable condition. The suspect is being held without bond pending arraignment on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder.
