RICHLAND TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — One of two Richland teenagers involved in a wreck early Monday has died and now the 17-year-old driver could face charges.
The driver, Jacob Lyons of Augusta, was admitted in serious condition, but is expected to survive. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department has identified the passenger killed in a crash as 17-year-old Connor Blinn of Kalamazoo.
Blinn died Monday night after their car hit several trees earlier that morning.
Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said investigators are looking for the cause and running tests.
Matyas said it could take several weeks for test results to be available. The investigation will then be sent to the prosecutor’s office.
