BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Residents in Battle Creek say they’d generally be in favor of new laws that would allow homeowners in the city to house chickens and smaller livestock on their properties.
The city-authored survey of 400 people reveals majorities supporting chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, rabbits and bees in backyards.
Support was split for pigs.
City officials say they’ll use the findings to steer a future community meeting on urban agriculture.
