GALESBURG (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Poilice say they need help from the public to solve a hit-and-run accident that occurred along West Bound Interstate 94 near Galesburg late Friday.
Troopers say a 62-year-old man was walking along the freeway and appeared to stop and lay down in the right lane, impeding traffic. Apparently, one of the oncoming drivers didn’t see the man in time and ran him over. The driver didn’t stop and kept going, despite damage to their vehicle.
It happened at around 10:30 p.m. just east of Exit 85. Troopers arrived after the victim, a Galesburg man, had already been struck. He was taken to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo for treatment.
His condition has not been released.
They’re looking for a vehicle with damage to the lower front passenger side.
They are asking that anyone with information who may have seen the accident or know of a vehicle with fresh damage contact the Paw Paw post at (269) 657-5551.
