BURLINGTON (WKZO-AM) — A 21-year-old is being held in the Calhoun County Jail on multiple charges after he got involved in a drunken altercation with a man and his own sister Thursday, utilizing a gun and a baseball bat during the incident.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies say, by the time they were called to the scene on East Leroy Street in the village of Burlington, both victims had been hit by the bat and several shots had been fired. Hospitalization was not required, however.
The assailant fled on foot before deputies arrived and was eventually tracked down by a police dog.
He turned out to be wanted for violating probation and is expected to be charged today with two counts of felonious assault and gun felonies.
