KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo Township man who had ten dogs removed from his property in February and was charged with animal cruelty and dogfighting has been ordered to stand trial.
Kelvin Thomas will be tried on five charges after a preliminary hearing this week, including three felonies.
State penalties for crimes connected to dog fighting are now tougher than they were when Thomas was last charged.
A trial date will be set later.
