KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A big crowd will brave hot weather and hotter salsas in downtown Kalamazoo this Saturday.
Twenty-five locations will have tortilla chips at the ready for the city’s second-annual salsa cook-off.
“Bring the family down, it’s a free event,” Organizer Brandy Gulley said. “All you have to do is go down there, and there’s tons of free parking.”
Gulley also said you can keep your walking shoes at home.
“We got a couple of party vans,” Gulley said. “And actually, one of those vans this year is a karaoke van.”
It’s the kickoff for the summer Kalamazoo Restaurant Week.
“There’s going to be a ton of food that’s really, really affordable,” Gulley said. “It will entice you to try something you haven’t tried before.”
It starts at 11 a.m.
