BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Commissioners have agreed to put about $765,000 toward the design of the proposed new police station in Battle Creek.
The city wants to construct the two-story facility in the parking lot of its current headquarters on North Division Street, which is said to be beyond the end of its useful life.
The city is expecting to spend about $19 million on the facility.
Another $1.1 million design contract is expected to be approved at a later date.
