KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A new report from the Chronicle of Higher Education says Western Michigan University’s president was the third-highest paid university president in the state last year.
The publication says John Dunn made just over $626,000 in 2015. That’s about $140,000 more than what the president of Wayne State was paid and it’s over $190,000 more than what the president of Central Michigan University made.
Dunn still legs behind what the presidents of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan raked in. UM’s Mark Schlissel made $772,000, while MSU’s Lou Anna K. Simon just missed the national top five, making $850,000.
At $1.3 million, the president of the University of Houston was the highest-paid public university president last year. Five presidents made over $1 million.
