KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A tip from a resident of an apartment complex on Bridge Street in Kalamazoo has resulted in a significant marijuana bust.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Steven Heyduck was on foot patrol when the citizen approached him and pointed out the location of an apartment unit where drugs were being sold. Heyduck and Timothy Millard made contact with the resident, gained entry and located several pounds of processed marijuana packaged for street sale and $35,000.
The occupant, who is in his 20s, is being held for operating a drug house and possession with intent to distribute. As for the tipster, it’s the kind of vigilant citizen participation in law enforcement they say they would like to see happen more often.
