KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Financial information firm CoreLogic says home prices in Kalamazoo and Portage were higher in May.
Analysts say local home prices increased 4.6 percent compared to last year and were up 2.7 percent compared to April.
The year-over-year figure is lower than the statewide average of 5.7 percent and the national average of 5.9 percent.
The biggest statewide home price increase was seen in Oregon and Washington, while Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania saw declines.
CoreLogic is anticipating prices nationally to continue to move higher into 2017.
