KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety was one of several police agencies that investigated Charles Pickett Jr. after the crash that killed five cyclists in Cooper Township.
Their police report on his travels through the city has been released.
It includes photos of tire tracks in lawns, a sign post that has been sheared off near Kalamazoo Central and reports of a pick-up truck being driven erratically by a man who appeared to be drunk.
It also described Pickett as combative after his arrest and that he had to be restrained in order to be tested and treated.
Prosecutors have since said that it was an undisclosed drug that was responsible for Pickett’s intoxication on that day. He is charged with 14-felonies and is currently undergoing mental exams.
