KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says it’d be willing to foot $10,000 of the reconstruction bill at the Galesburg Meat Company if the business opts to go meat-free.
PETA claims to have sent a letter to the president of the business, asking them to consider modeling themselves after a vegan butcher shop in Minnesota.
Officials at the business say they have not received the letter.
The company’s facility on Mill Street suffered severe fire damage last week.
Firefighters say the structure is likely a total loss. It’s not clear yet what sparked the blaze.
