KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam after a nerve-wrangling incident at a restaurant on the city’s east side.
Michael Robinson, 58, has been charged with felonious assault and a concealed weapons charge after allegedly confronting customers at Los Amigos Restaurant at Gull and Sprinkle roads on Saturday.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said he was acting erratically, talking about the February mass-shooting in Kalamazoo. Matyas also said the patrons Robinson confronted were strangers who had no idea what his issue was.
He had a handgun in his waistband and began to wave it around.
Officers were able to take him into custody without incident.
Robinson is being held on $75,000 bond and must undergo that psychiatric exam before he will be permitted to leave custody.
Matyas said Robinson had previously been involved in a road rage incident.
