KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 26-year-old was killed when the delivery truck the local resident was driving left Portage Road north of East U Avenue in rural Schoolcraft Township.
It happened at around 7 a.m. Saturday. Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies say that the victim’s truck struck a car parked in a driveway then crashed into a tree. Deputies said it was the impact with the tree that resulted in the fatal injuries.
A preliminary investigation suggests that speed was not a factor, but deputies are not saying at this point what may have prompted the driver to lose control.
No names have been released, but deputies say the driver was from Vicksburg.
