COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Formal charges could be leveled Monday against a man who pulled a handgun on patrons at a restaurant in Comstock Township over the weekend.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Los Amigos Restaurant in the 5400 block of Gull Road at around 11 p.m. Saturday night after dispatchers received 911 calls about a man who had been confronting customers with a handgun pulled from his waistband.
Officers from Kalamazoo Public Safety and Kalamazoo Township responded. The show of force convinced the subject to surrender without incident.
The press release does not make it clear what motivated the man to flash the handgun and whether it was directed at a specific customer.
The suspect was booked into jail for felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
