KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) –They call themselves Erik’s Army and their mission is to put the people responsible for the death of Erik Cross behind bars, three decades after they say the 16-year-old from Vicksburg was murdered.
Tammy Evans was a classmate. She tells us they’re trying to raise money to publicize the case. They have been putting up posters, but they want to buy a billboard. They say the more publicity they get, the more tips roll in.
They were collecting donations in Bronson Park on Thursday evening.
They claim that intimidation has been used to keep the cover-up going all these years and payoffs from one of the five persons of interest in the case.
Prosecutor Jeff Getting has the police file to date. Kalamazoo County Investigators continue to follow up on tips.
No charges have been filed so far.
