UPDATE – 6/23 at 12:20 p.m.: The woman who was hospitalized in critical condition after the wreck has died.
She has been identifed as 18-year-old Cassi Stephens of Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A woman is hospitalized in critical condition after the car she was riding in was struck by a pickup on Sprinkle Road.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies say the 19-year-old driver failed to yield to the pickup, which was headed north on Sprinkle as he was headed south trying to turn left onto Michigan Avenue.
The pickup broadsided the car where the female was sitting before 2 p.m. The driver of the car was also seriously injured.
Both had to be pried out of the vehicle by Comstock emergency personnel.
Names have not yet been released.
