GALESBURG (WKZO-AM) — Crews say an early-morning fire gutted the Galesburg Meat Company facility on Mill Street.
It happened at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. The fire was extinguished at around 6 a.m.
East Michigan Avenue had to be shut down at 35th Street.
It’s not clear what started the fire. Firefighters don’t believe anybody was inside at the time.
The building has been declared a total loss.
