KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A professor at the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School says there’s no chance Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland will get a Senate hearing before the end of the year.
Devin Schindler said Republicans have made their intentions clear and they could be making an tactical error.
“If Hillary Clinton wins the election, the next one or two justices she’ll select won’t be the moderate that Obama has supported,” Schindler said.
The court is expected to rule on affirmative action, abortion and immigration cases that could affect millions before the end of the year. Split votes would not provide any resolution.
