KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids is expecting a line of severe thunderstorms to impact southwest Michigan on Wednesday.
The weather will develop over Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin early afternoon and should hit southwest Michigan by evening.
“60 to 70 mph winds are certainly possible,” National Weather Service meteorologist Evan Webb said. “Rainfall could be heavy at times, so we could be looking at ponding of water and minor flooding.”
Webb also said it’d be wise to seek out sturdy structures and develop a severe weather plan now.
“There is a risk for isolated tornadoes and isolated large hail in these storms,” Webb said.
Storms left thousands powerless in southern Michigan and northern Indiana on Monday.
