OSHTEMO (WKZO-AM) — A small gang of thieves suspected in a number of area thefts and burglaries are in custody, thanks to an observant homeowner in Oshtemo who gave chase to two of the burglars.
The homeowner, who lives on Darlington Trail, was awakened about 3:30 Friday morning by a crashing sound in the home and when he investigated, found a door open.
By that time deputies were on their way, and spotted a car parked at the curb in the neighborhood that was occupied.
They were investigating that car when two other suspects came their way, with the homeowner in hot pursuit and on the phone.
Three young men and a woman are in custody. Investigators are trying to determine just how many crimes they may have committed.
