ALBION (WKZO-AM) — An Albion Public Safety officer has been put on administrative leave after he was arrested at a crash scene over the weekend in Jackson County.
There is a suspicion that he was driving while under the influence of a substance at the time of the crash. Toxicology tests are underway.
Michigan State Police said the officer’s personal car was the only vehicle involved in the off-duty wreck.
There will be an internal department investigation to determine whether or not the unidentified officer gets to keep his job. That will depend on the charges the officer faces and whether he is found guilty.
