PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked a blaze that caused $100,000 damage to a home in the 1000 block of Schuring Road in central Portage on Tuesday night.
The Fire Division of the Portage Department of Public Safety got the first alert from dispatchers after 6 p.m.
Firefighters said they were able to contain the flames to the first floor, but they could not prevent the rest of the home by suffering extensive smoke damage.
There were no injuries reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
