KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s investigators are calling the discovery of the body of a woman dumped along rural 10th Street near Schoolcraft a “suspicious death.”
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death and to try to confirm her identity of the woman, who appears to be in her 30s.
Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said a passerby discovered the body and called 911 at around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
It’s being labeled suspicious because there was no reason for the woman to be there. She does not come from the area and the roadway she was found alongside isn’t frequenly travelled.
They don’t believe the body had been there for very long. A county grass cutting crew had been down the road just a few hours before.
