SCHOOLCRAFT (WKZO-AM) — Witnesses say a Gobles man is lucky to be alive after he lost control of his car and jammed it between a couple of trees at Clyde Street and Portage Road in Schoolcraft Township.
It happened at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s investigators say the man had been driving his Lincoln recklessly and at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash.
The 44-year-old was trapped in the wreckage by the dashboard and steering wheel and had to be extracted.
Deputies say his injuries were non-life threatening. It remains under investigation.
