BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Abigail Kopf continues to make strides in her recovery from a head wound suffered when she was allegedly shot by Kalamazoo mass murder suspect Jason Dalton in February.
The 14-year-old tells WOOD-TV she almost feels “normal” after a check-up Tuesday in Kalamazoo to have stitches removed from her head. Over two weeks ago, she had surgery to replace a piece of her skull that was removed by doctors during emergency surgery following the shooting.
Her mother said she still suffers from occasional migraines.
She continues with therapy, hopes to get a tutor this summer and return to Harper Creek Middle school this fall.
The Kopf family has a GoFundMe page to help defray the costs.
