KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — After several delays, months of work and thousands of dollars in expenditures, Woods Lake Park has been reopened to the public, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
Officials with the city of Kalamazoo held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday under the new covered picnic area. The park next to the beach also has new bathrooms and a fishing dock. There is also a walking path, a playground and other amenities.
There is also improved parking and ADA accessibility.
It will no doubt get plenty of use if the long-range forecast for a warmer and dryer summer in southwest Michigan is accurate.
