JEFFERSON COUNTY, KY. (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man has been indicted in federal court for allegedly driving three women from Michigan to Kentucky, then forcing them into the sex trade.
David Givhan, 34, is charged with five felonies, including three counts of transporting women over state lines for prostitution. The indictment claims Givran transported two of the women knowing he would have to use threats, fraud, coercion or force to make them engage in commercial sex acts.
For those two counts of human trafficking, the maximum is life in prison.
A grand jury in Kentucky handed down the indictment last week.
The crimes allegedly occurred between fall 2014 and spring 2015.
