BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A 12-year-old boy suffered a leg injury after he ran into the side of a passing vehicle while trying to cross a street near Lakeview Middle School.
It happened at West Columbia Avenue and 28th Street roughly an hour after classes began Wednesday, according to a press release from the Battle Creek Police Department.
Investigators say the child entered the intersection against an illuminated “do not cross” sign. No crossing guards were present.
The child was alert after the collision.
His mother brought him to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for treatment. The child’s current condition wasn’t listed.
