DEARBORN (WKZO-AM) — AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan is up to $2.26.
Spokesperson Susan Hiltz says that’s a nickel higher compared to last week.
“The good news is that it’s 36 cents less than it was last year,” Hiltz said.
She says demand is driving prices higher.
“With prices being much lower than last year, it’s more advantageous for folks to hit the road,” Hiltz said. “If we have good weather, and the people are willing to go out and vacation, we’ll probably see a bit more demand for gas.”
GasBuddy.com says regular is selling for about $2.21 in Kalamazoo, $2.22 in Lansing and $2.24 in Grand Rapids.
