KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Saturday’s “Race for the Cure” in Kalamazoo will be held in honor of a southwest Michigan radio personality and breast cancer survivor who was killed in a Berrien County murder-suicide.
Denise Bohn-Stewart, who was shot by her husband last month, organized the Kalamazoo event for years.
It starts at 9 a.m. at Homer Stryker Field. Online registration has closed, but walk-ups can fill out participation forms from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
So far, just under $20,000 has been raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
