KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Officials in Lawton have lifted the village’s three-week boil water advisory.
Public Works Supt. Michael Grabbe made the decision after consecutive tests came up clean.
“We had to do two sets of four samples each and they all came back ‘non-detect,’” Grabbe said. “So, I was able to lift the boil notice.”
The advisory was prompted after a high level of total coliform was found in one of the village’s wells. Grabbe said he’s trying to figure out how the bacteria entered the well.
“I really don’t know, we’ll have to do some research,” Grabbe said. “It could be a crack in the casing — I’ve never had that before, but I think anything’s possible.”
The affected well has been taken offline until an answer is found, Grabbe said.
