BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Investigators are estimating the damage at Reconserve of Michigan on Angell Street in Battle Creek at over $250,000 after a diesel spill from an end loader sent the vehicle up in flames in the doorway of the operation.
Some of the flames spread to the structure, fire officials said.
Battle Creek firefighters were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. and quickly put out the flames, salvaging most of the grain storage business.
The company was preparing to resume operations soon after fire crews left Monday night.
