DECATUR TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Drug use may have been a factor in a crash that severely damaged a vehicle on 39th Street near Burgess Road, just northeast of Decatur.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s investigators met with the victim at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw after 11:45 p.m. Monday. The driver, who has not been identified, was hospitalized there after running off the road and striking a large tree.
The force of the impact nearly divided the car in half, representatives with the sheriff’s office said.
The driver’s current condition is not listed.
