KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The death of a man at the Kalamazoo County Jail soon after he was arrested at Bronson Methodist Hospital’s emergency room is being investigated, but first Kalamazoo Public Safety detectives have to find out what killed the 57-year-old.
It reportedly began at about 6 a.m. Friday when police got a call from Bronson that a man who had been treated was refusing to leave. When he did not cooperate with police, and asked to be arrested. From there, he was taken to jail.
About 90 minutes after initial contact, the man stopped breathing. CPR was administered, but the man could not be revived.
