KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A second GoFundMe for the youngest survivor of the Kalamazoo shooting rampage is about to eclipse the $50,000 mark.
Over $49,000 has been raised for 14-year-old Abigail Kopf’s recovery fund since April. The money will be used to help pay down costs associated with the teenager’s long-term recovery. Money will also be put toward renovations to help Kopf’s mobility at the family’s home in Battle Creek.
Over $65,000 was raised for Kopf’s immediate medical expenses during a previous drive.
A surgery to replace a portion of Kopf’s skull missing since the attack at the Cracker Barrel in Texas Township is set for next Friday. She was one of five struck outside the restaurant, allegedly by 45-year-old Jason Dalton, but the only one to survive.
Tiana Carruthers, the second person to live through the February shootings that left six dead, is recovering at home.
